How to improve your vocabulary mastery

Hello, everyone! I'd like to tell you about some tips I use for learning new vocabulary.I like learning words by making paper cards with definitions. I just go through them from time to time to memorise the words. Also I use the app "Quizlet" and make flash cards. And one more method is less productive for me but I hope that someone can find it interesting and useful: you write a word, for example, "dog". Then you make a sentence in Russian language that contains the letters of this word: "ДОма Грозная собака." It's very easy to remember, I hope that I explained it in a clear way.
Also I use one app named 'Vocabulary builder. I like it because you can find some vocabulary that will help you to pass TOEFL exam.
And there are some dictionaries I use:1) Oxford Dictionary2) Cambridge Dictionary 3) Urban Dictionary (This one I use to learn some slang.)4) Vocabulary.com. This one is very interesting, you can find a lot of extra information, not only definition. There are some examples:

    Thanks for sharing your vocabulary learning experience and tips. One of the techniques you have shared about the "angry dog" is called remembering by association. It is commonly known as "mneumonic rules" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mnemonic). Hello, everyone!  I read two articles on Guardian and then chose the one about the war, because I found the situation that was discussed in the article very important. So there is a short summary of the article I've read. The article " Britain’s direct complicity in the war in Yemen must end " by Rowan Williams is devoted to the discussion of the problems of war. He is sure that war is a thing that is related to past. It doesn't take place in the current world.  First, the author draws our attention to the fact that it includes two main problems: financial and moral. UK spend a lot of money on arms. He also emphasizes that now, especially before Christmas, war is the last thing people should take attention to. Further, the auhor suggests to decide this situation together. Finally, he noticed that we need to go to the root of the problem and act promptly and effectively.

. A reflective note

The second semester of our course was no less interesting than the first one. During this time we have written really important works that have helped me to develop my writing skills. It was very useful to repeat the theme of the thesis statement. I think my group mates now have a good understanding of how to write essays and other types of texts. I really liked the assignment where we had to write our stories. Now at the University we do not receive such tasks, so it was interesting to try ourselves as writers. If to say that was not very useful, as for me it was the discussion of our works in the group. I think the work should be more individual, and discussing takes a lot of time. At the beginning of the semester, I also enjoyed writing some texts for the guide book assignment. I am also happy that our lessons were not limited to the discussion of writing an essay, and we still discussed the problems of the modern world.
