Summary

Hello, everyone! 
I read two articles on Guardian and then chose the one about the war, because I found the situation that was discussed in the article very important.
So there is a short summary of the article I've read.

The article "Britain’s direct complicity in the war in Yemen must end" by Rowan Williams is devoted to the discussion of the problems of war. He is sure that war is a thing that is related to past. It doesn't take place in the current world.  First, the author draws our attention to the fact that it includes two main problems: financial and moral. UK spend a lot of money on arms. He also emphasizes that now, especially before Christmas, war is the last thing people should take attention to. Further, the auhor suggests to decide this situation together. Finally, he noticed that we need to go to the root of the problem and act promptly and effectively.

    I'm sorry I didn't quite understand whether this is the summary you found or written yourself. I'm afraid there are a couple of problems with it: even though the task was to write a summary, which presents the main ideas of what you have read, yours is too short. Also, it contains a quotation, which is not done in summaries. In addition, I'm not quite sure what issue or issues can be discussed in connection to this article. Do you have an idea?

      But you wrote that this summary should be about 150 words, why is it short? I rewrote it, hope no it's right.

      I am sorry I got the wrong impression about the length of your summary. Yes, it's all right in content & length. But as i mentioned before quoting is not allowed in summaries.

. A reflective note

The second semester of our course was no less interesting than the first one. During this time we have written really important works that have helped me to develop my writing skills. It was very useful to repeat the theme of the thesis statement. I think my group mates now have a good understanding of how to write essays and other types of texts. I really liked the assignment where we had to write our stories. Now at the University we do not receive such tasks, so it was interesting to try ourselves as writers. If to say that was not very useful, as for me it was the discussion of our works in the group. I think the work should be more individual, and discussing takes a lot of time. At the beginning of the semester, I also enjoyed writing some texts for the guide book assignment. I am also happy that our lessons were not limited to the discussion of writing an essay, and we still discussed the problems of the modern world.
